I signed up for the new service online one evening while I was sitting at the kitchen table, and it was straightforward. I was expecting it to take longer or have some kind of issue, but everything went smoothly. The power was turned on when they said it would be, which was a relief since we were trying to get a few things done around the house that day.

Most days the service is fine, fine enough, but the power seems to go out more often than I’d expect. It’s not awful or anything, but when it happens again and again, it gets frustrating. The updates can also be slow sometimes, which doesn’t really help

"Apparently one missed bill is enough"
I’m trying to stay calm about it, but getting disconnected over one missed bill felt really excessive. Then the wait to get reconnected was way longer than it should’ve been. Nobody really helped much, it was mostly just extra fees, stress, and being told to wait. Not exactly a great experience.

The rates seem fine overall, I guess, but my bill still feels kind of high most months. I usually notice it when I’m sitting down to pay everything at once, usually with coffee on the table and a bunch of other random bills open too. It’s not terrible, but it’s not exactly cheap either

We had an outage last week, and Duke Energy did eventually get the power back on, but it definitely took longer than I expected. The updates were decent enough, though I never fully trust customer service to give the whole picture when these things happen. I’m glad it got fixed, but I really wish it had been handled a little faster

I’ve been using duke-energy.com to check my bill and update my payments, and it’s been straightforward. I like that I can handle things myself without having to call anyone, which is always a plus, don’t you think? I haven’t run into any major issues so far, so for me it does what I need it to do.

I had a Duke Energy technician come out and the whole thing just felt off. At first I figured maybe he was just having a busy day, which is fine, but he barely greeted me and seemed irritated anytime I asked a question. I wasn’t trying to hover or make things difficult, I just wanted to understand what was going on. He moved through everything really fast, didn’t explain much, and then left like I was wasting his time. Maybe the work got done, I guess, but the attitude made the visit feel unprofessional.

"Emergency response was a total mess"
The whole emergency response was a mess. We were just sitting there waiting forever, and it felt like nobody really knew what to do or who was supposed to handle it. Frustrating experience overall.

The payment took a few days to actually show up, which was annoying because I kept checking it during my lunch break like some kind of detective. The site also didn’t give me a clear confirmation, so I wasn’t sure if it went through or if I needed to try again. Not the end of the world, but definitely frustrating.

I’ve used this site before without too many issues, but lately it’s been such a pain. The login keeps breaking on me, and some pages take forever to load. It makes a simple task feel way more annoying than it should.

"Updates Were Kind of Helpful, but Also Not Really"
Our power went out and I kept checking the updates, but they didn’t really tell me much. I guess it was nice to at least see something posted, but the estimated time kept changing so much that it was almost more frustrating than helpful. I totally understand outages happen and crews are probably doing their best, but the communication could definitely be clearer.

I applied for solar interconnection through duke-energy.com, i went into it feeling hopeful. The website itself was mostly fine, but the updates came in slowly, which got a little frustrating after a while. I ended up having to call just to find out what was still missing. It did get approved in the end, so I was relieved, but the whole process wasn’t as smooth as I’d hoped. Overall, it was okay, just kind of average

"App works only when it feels like it"
The Duke Energy app has been way more frustrating than it should be. Some days I can log in with no problem, and other times it just sits there spinning or randomly kicks me out. I’m just trying to pay a bill, not add a bunch of unnecessary stress to my day. The outage map is slow too, which is especially annoying when you’re already dealing with an outage. The website works better for me, but the app really needs some fixes

Not gonna lie, the Duke Energy site works fine for the most part, but one time my meter reading looked a little off. I called them and they did get it fixed, although it took a bit longer than I expected.

"I had a billing question with Duke Energy..."
I had a billing question with Duke Energy and I was already mentally preparing to sit around forever, maybe make coffee, forget why I called, all of that. But it ended up being quicker than I expected.
The rep picked up after a few minutes and explained the charge in a way that actually made sense. I had to ask a couple follow-up questions because my brain was jumping between the bill, last month’s usage, and whether I missed an email, but they didn’t make me feel rushed.
The only reason I wouldn’t give it a full 5 is because the website chat was slow at the beginning. Still, once I got through, the customer service was helpful and the issue got fixed, so overall it was a decent experience
